Аннотация. В статье рассматривается современный экодизайн в производстве изделий из природного камня. Особое внимание уделено использованию местных природных материалов – змеевика и кварца – в качестве экологически безопасного и долговечного материала для создания каменных изделий. Также детально рассмотрены их физико‑механические и эстетические свойства. Проведён анализ исторических предпосылок развития камнерезного искусства на Урале и выявлена его связь с современными понятиями экологического дизайна. Исследованы подходы к применению принципов переработки, осознанного потребления и минимализма в современном дизайне декоративно-прикладной продукции. Научный результат исследования заключается в обосновании роли экодизайна как эффективного инструмента сохранения природных ресурсов и формирования устойчивого подхода к проектированию изделий из природных минералов. Это создаёт предпосылки для развития региональной экономики на принципах экологической компетентности.

Abstract. The article discusses modern eco-design in the production of natural stone products. Special attention is paid to the use of local natural materials – serpentine and quartz – as an environmentally friendly and durable material for creating stone products. Their physico‑mechanical and aesthetic properties are also considered in detail. The analysis of the historical prerequisites for the development of stone-cutting art in the Urals has been carried out and its connection with modern concepts of ecological design has been revealed. The approaches to the application of the principles of recycling, conscious consumption and minimalism in the modern design of decorative and applied products are investigated. The scientific result of the study is to substantiate the role of ecodesign as an effective tool for the conservation of natural resources and the formation of a sustainable approach to the design of products made from natural minerals. This creates prerequisites for the development of the regional economy based on the principles of environmental competence.
