Аннотация. В статье рассматриваются историко-культурные предпосылки и этапы развития речного вокзала в Самаре как важного элемента дизайна городской среды. Доказано, что активное использование реки как средства передвижения грузовым и пассажирским транспортом вызывало потребность в формировании причальных зон - дебаркадеров, речных вокзалов. Автор демонстрирует, как трансформировались теплоходы, популярными стали пассажирские перевозки, что привело к созданию пароходных ведомств. Возникла конкуренция, которая повлекла за собой активное развитие водного транспорта. Благодаря учетам пароходных ведомств стало возможным проследить передвижение людей на судах по Волжскому бассейну в разных временных промежутках. Сделан вывод, что речной вокзал является неотъемлемой частью транспортной сети больших городов и важнейшим транспортным элементом дизайна городской среды.

Abstract. The article discusses the historical and cultural prerequisites and stages of development of the river station in Samara as an important element in the design of the urban environment. It is proved that the active use of the river as a means of transportation by freight and passenger transport has caused the need to form mooring zones - landing stages, river stations. The author demonstrates how motor ships were transformed, passenger transportation became popular, which led to the creation of steamship departments. Competition arose, which led to the active development of water transport. Thanks to the records of the shipping departments, it became possible to trace the movement of people on ships; noteburg along the Volzhsky river arrived in the basin of the barge at different time intervals. It is concluded that the river station is an integral part of the transport network of large cities and the most important design element of the urban environment.
